Hi Fred

Thank you for your comment. To answer your question.

Are you planning to terminate the service before your subscription expires? Or are you simply choosing not to renew?

If you terminate your subscription before it expires, you may need to request for these listings to be released by the aggregators and then we will be able to claim and manage them.

If the subscription expires naturally, then the aggregator listings should be released from our competitor account and we will be able to claim and manage them for you.

We submit your business data using API and our aggregator team is constantly monitoring the data, checking for duplicates or existing listings.

Please contact us directly on support@brightlocal.com if you have any further questions or need any more information.

Many Thanks
Vicky

If we terminate our subscription to from your competitor who happens to also submit to these 4 aggregators, and subscribe to your aggregator service, how does it will work? Will listings/account for each of these aggregators be duplicated?

We don’t have any immediate plans to add Bali to our service, sorry for any inconvenience.

Hi Sean,

Thanks for reading and getting involved in our blog post!

Great question Sean!

The LDA would not override a manual submission as they have more authority if they have been claimed.

This is because someone has manually created an account and therefore they own that data.

The Aggregators data does not have as much authority because its pulling/feeding in the data.

Obviously each directory has their own data policies but from our experience its very rare that we see data from LDAs overriding manual submissions.

With regards to your question on punctuation- this should not make a difference but some sites will normalise data which may make the punctuation slightly different. But within the Business Name and address I would not worry about this too much- if its just a difference between ; or , for example.

I hope this helps

Thanks,
Helen

It is so much clearer now on the best approach on citation marketing. The only question left in my mind is this:

If we create lets say 20 citations with your manual submission service BEFORE the LDA , is there a chance the LDA settings/data might overwrite the manual submission data? (and seem less authoratative)

I would add one sentence for clarification here:
” You can also choose whether you want manual submissions, aggregators or both.”

And is this in another article? What do we need to watch out for that might cause 2 seperete entries? Basic Punctation differences? (, # . )
